how am i going to be an optimist about this?
[Almost as soon as the trial lets out, Tarrlok kind of... tears off to the kitchen, because he's mildly concerned that he's going to experience an adrenaline crash before he even starts cooking, and so he begins! He starts on some tea, marinating some beef for kebabs... but he feels like he's forgetting something...

Tarrlok will be getting kebabs ready for everyone, since he was hungry for them, Yuri confirmed, and Cabanela said he'd have whatever he'd have. Speaking of, Cabanela shows up to make some chicken soup! And Yuri makes curry, teriyaki chicken, and steamed vegetables. So there's a little something for everyone. The food that gets put out isn't super fancy, but it's nice, and there's tea just like Elda wanted.

And then the adrenaline crash happens. He knew this was coming, but he'd hoped he could stave it off a little longer... like, that had to be a lot of adrenaline from almost dying, right. Well. Nevertheless... as the night goes on and the requests lay off, he's going to just. Make himself some coffee. Sit in the dining room. Rest... his face in his hands.

The food is... nice. It's nice. It's comforting, in an odd way. He hopes they can keep this energy to refuse to cooperate with the Coordinators going. He'll be milling about the dining room and halls, asking people how they're holding up.
Later, once most people have retired to their rooms, he can be found in the second library, looking around like he's at a loss.]

They're both sort of on the same mission tonight, talking to others, so it's no wonder they miss each other in the dining room. Rin doesn't plan to go to bed tonight without having spoken to at least everyone though, so she makes a point of seeking Cabanela out. It takes a little while. By process of taking one room at a time, the library is obviously the last place she looks.]
...It's strange, isn't it? [She sits on one of the tables.] This building feels so large now, with just the eight of us.

[ And what's to come there? Well, at the afterparty proper Elda is going to deliver a speech. Or well, more accurately, she's going to leap up on top of the dining table and then pull into a full-as-close-to-90 degree angle bow as she can and address the assembled crowd which hopefully includes everyone. ]
I am sorry. Earlier, I doubted every one of you, and took several steps backwards. I -- we cannot afford such things from here on out. I do not ask for forgiveness, but I instead endeavor to do what I can to prove it to you.
[ And she's going to stand now, puffing out her chest as she declares, ]

She sips it for a long time in the dinging room, but eventually the mood in there is simply too much for her, despite her bravado. Willing a determined smile on her face, despite the pain. She's going to the ballroom actually, and she's going to be playing there... for long time. A long ass time. This lasts until about one am, and then she's going to be...
Well, no, one more step.
She's going to go to her room briefly, and then she's going to be at the incinerator. She reads over whatever paper she has in hand one more time, and she's clearly... crying? and then she's going to be tossing that into the incinerator. Then she's going to bed. ]

Later on, Yuri will obtain letters from Sayaka's room to go hunt down and pass them on to people who haven't already grabbed a hold of theirs, so on and so forth. It's another thing to do, if anything.
For a short while he can be found in the dojo. Unlike everyone else, he hasn't quite settled down yet. He's pounding against the barricades, furiously, because there is a lot of rage he's been keeping back. It hurt losing two people he deeply cared about, and he couldn't even punch Kyrie or Jericho (yet) in the face.
Then, he'll be found in the bar briefly, though he's not here for a drink. Not yet, anyway. ]

He eventually makes it down to eat place- or the dining hall. He didn't make any special requests for Tarrlok, so he just has kebabs, chicken and veggies. He harped on Kyrie a lot for the whole cooking thing, but...this week has been so stressful that he's kind of thrown his precautions out the window at this point. He sticks around for a while, but he isn't particularly talkative. Still, he won't flat-out refuse conversation.
And, since this has become a tradition, he does stop in the bar later on. He fixes himself a tequila sunrise and lingers at the counter for a bit, just...thinking. But he eventually makes his way back to room 24 for the night.]

He does end up in the dining room eventually, though, and after listening to people talk he is going to attempt to eat. 'Attempt' being the key word there, because he has to eat with his left hand, and he is not left-handed. The endeavor is not going well, and he is getting increasingly frustrated by it.]

They'll win, and they'll bring everyone back, somehow. She won't accept any less.
Tonight, though. Holy shit, tonight she needs a break, she'll get a fresh start in the morning. So first thing's first, a little bit before the afterparty actually kicks off, you can find Rin in the infirmary. It seems Rideaux has Luca's arm covered, but she'll get some supplies here and try to track down Tarrlok and Elda at some point, to make sure they've taken care of themselves.
She's getting an icepack for herself as well. She has a bump on the back of her own head and bruises are starting to form on her neck from where Elda held her by the throat earlier, but oddly enough the icepack isn't for any of those? Taking a break on one of the infirmary beds, she's icing her left arm actually.
At any rate, she'll do a few other things in there before heading to the dining room proper, just having whatever's there since she expects her special request later in the week. Probably kebabs! This is the first time she's had them, actually, and she's nomming on them appreciatively.
She actually is making attempts to be social here! Your mileage may vary on how successful she is, but Sayaka was always so thoughtful of everyone, and with her gone... It's like slipping into a pair of shoes you're not sure fit you, but know can't be left to gather dust like this. So she'll make a point of visiting everyone at some point, for at least a little bit. For those who look a little glum, they might hear something like this:]
