Let's find what is waiting at the end of everything
[ Sometime around two AM the night before everyone is getting a notice put under their door. She would do it in the morning but she usually is only up and at 'em by like noon. So elda is sending a little to everyone in her impeccable cursive, ]
[ And well, true to her word, by six Elda is in the library. Ditty is with her, along with a sketchbook, three bags of blood, a pen and a sharpie, one of those hardcore lighters from the vending machine, and two silph scopes. It seems that she got a second one somewhere along the line (no, it was yesterday). This is all arrayed on a table here in the library, and she's done what she can to move some of the shelves a bit to situate a few more chairs for people.
She's got her arms crossed and seems serious. Susan better have rallied the dead. ]
Alright! So I've brought the goggles and everything I could think of. Let's get to work, people.
We are to meet with our departed tonight at six in the lower library. I will provide the Scopes with which to see them, but bring writing utensils, paper, ouija boards, salt, or whatever else you believe will help in terms of contact. Hold firm, and come even if you have reservations. Hopefully, we shall learn something.
Sincerely yours,
Elda Marker

Sigrun, who is pissed off that the note she's holding up does not seem to be catching on fire;
Kimblee, who is taking the opportunity to look mildly done and ensure that a note is visible - ONCE THIS LITTLE MEETING OF OURS IS DONE, TELL MISS MAIZONO TO TAKE ONE OF THOSE CONTRAPTIONS DOWN TO THE HALLWAY IN THE FIRST FLOOR, OUTSIDE OF THE BALLROOM, AND USE IT THERE.
...And Weiss, who is taking a more practical approach to the whole thing, given the note she's holding up -
Is anything on fire on your side? Please don't set something on fire if there isn't anything, just asking if the fire we're seeing is a ghost thing or if it's one of you.
...OR, YOU KNOW
A FOURTH REACTION COULD OCCUR, TERUMI IS OVER IN ASOCIAL CORNER B ALSO SETTING THINGS ON FIRE, BECAUSE OF FUCKING COURSE HE IS.]

So you think it worked because you were killing the note, essentially?
[Where's Shiki Tohno when you need him. Oh well. In lieu of mystic eyes that can kill chairs (I GUESS), Rin's going to attempt a different experiment here actually.
She's gonna take one of the unlit candles, and write WE'RE ATTEMPTING WAYS TO COMMUNICATE. CAN YOU SEE THIS? into its side with a pen. Then she's going to break it in half and drop it! The candle is dead.]

I don't think you guys can see or hear me without the fire...
[ She mutters this to herself, but then writes out three notes here, setting all of them on the ground and to her credit not lighting them on fire yet but...
1) I LIT A NOTE ON FIRE TO KILL IT
2) I DON'T THINK YOU CAN SEE US RIGHT?
3) YOU CAN'T HEAR US, RIGHT?
( also she'll glance to see if the ghost fire crosses over to... the living side...?
And she'll wait to see if any of those work as she turns to Sayaka: ]
Kimblee's got a message for you. Want me to tell you now or you can put borrow the scope?

IF THAT WAS YOU BURNING A NOTE, ELDA, WE JUST GOT A FLOATING FIREBALL
WHICH DIDN'T BURN FOR SOME REASON
no subject
Okay they say they got a not-burning fireball when I burned the note, but not the note?
[ Weird. ]

Stuff that's like paper can't pass over?
no subject
[ Mmm... ]
... Maybe if we killed some plants? Plants used to be alive?
no subject
[ Hmmm ... ]
We could try that--see if it pops up on the other side, I guess.

[ ... Something tells Yuri it's definitely something wicked complicated. Probably. ]

Maybe it's something about the lighter itself. That isn't something you can simply grab out of the storage room, correct?

[...She's kind of trying to get her nerves down, but she inhales a little bit of a breath in while she works her nerves down.]
Tell me, please. I...need to breathe a bit.

[ Presumably a private message or something. ]

[Okay, let's just key this down and hope it works. But still, she'll nod her head.]

You can take one of 'em after this, of course.

[Have a somewhat shaky smile, Elda.]

His message is basically this:
Yo. Is this working? ]

So while Yuri is painting on the floor and a few...less things are on fire and Hilda is pretty much going to be in the corner weeping for the state of her library (okay, not really, but she's going to be judging the fuck out of all of you from where she's standing near the door), there's going to be movement from the Ouija board Rin has set up.
...Namely, it just sort of noodles around for a moment before flicking over to S, followed by a long pause and W-O-R-K-I-N-G-?]

Guys! [She beckons with her hands, trying to get their attention to it.] It's working!
[She sits down again.]
It'll probably work better if we settle down. Seances are supposed to be quiet.
[...once people have settled down, she's going to try to address it again, hand on the board.]
You're here with us. Who are we speaking to?
