trustfell | Week 7.

WEEK 7
Orihime Inoue, Estellise Sidos Heurassein, and Kirei Kotomine all died this past week. One of your Coordinators died as well, leaving you with a new face but still no end to this. Several of you are finding yourselves at a crossroads: either keep moving forward, or accept the inevitability of fate. It's your own choice, your own decision; no one's going to make it for you.

Over half of you are gone now.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Once again, a new floor has been opened to you; unfortunately, either this is a particularly strange reward or Jericho is starting to get downright sarcastic. Perhaps there's something in it for you despite the setup; who knows, though there's really only one way to find out.

Is that what has you so worked up?

[There's some obvious hesitation with that, like he isn't sure how truthful he wants to be right now.

Of course, that incentive was rather potent. Everyone should feel on edge today. But I find myself more concerned about upcoming dreams.

You're already looking ahead to Sunday, huh? [Rin yawns again, but that's a little strange. It's enough to wake her up somewhat.] It must be troublesome, if you're more concerned with that than what could happen tomorrow.

...yeah.

[He may as well admit it since he's already made the implications clear.]

Simply put, my last dream contained the worst cliffhanger. I dislike the fact that I have to face the next one with that uncertainty.

...you know, it says a lot for how little I know you, that I'm unsure if you'd define "worst cliffhanger" as the uncertainty if you'd live or die, or having everything you've worked for fail to pass.

The fact that Rideaux almost drops his tongs is a good indicator that Rin just hit the nail right on the head somewhere (maybe both?), but his response is going to attempt to drive any conversation away from it. He just chuckles.]

I never said it was anything quite that serious. No, it's... Well, I suppose it does have to do with my job in Dimensional Affairs, so it is still serious. I was taking a test to retain my position.

[Rideaux has never struck her as the bumbling sort. Rin's just watching him with a half-awake version of an okaaaaaaay then expression, moving to put the tea on automatically, like the process is so engrained in her she doesn't even have to look at what she's doing.]

Huh. What a weird place, to have exams for people as high up the food chain as you are...

[She takes one teacup out of the cupboard, and then a second one which she waves at him. Want some tea too, Rideaux?]

[He's not much of a tea person...but eh, why not. So he'll nod to Rin's cup-waving before continuing the conversation.]

It wasn't really an exam. I was simply given very specific, very difficult orders by my company's CEO to follow.

[Cool, she'll set a second cup aside then as she goes about making this. And hmm.]

A test of loyalty, huh? [...] How shady.
