Week 7.
Orihime Inoue, Estellise Sidos Heurassein, and Kirei Kotomine all died this past week. One of your Coordinators died as well, leaving you with a new face but still no end to this. Several of you are finding yourselves at a crossroads: either keep moving forward, or accept the inevitability of fate. It's your own choice, your own decision; no one's going to make it for you. Over half of you are gone now. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Once again, a new floor has been opened to you; unfortunately, either this is a particularly strange reward or Jericho is starting to get downright sarcastic. Perhaps there's something in it for you despite the setup; who knows, though there's really only one way to find out. |

[OOC: Welcome to week seven of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Coordinators, you can do so through private meetings with Hilda!]

He picks up a bottle of standard sleep aids, rather than the super strong stuff.]
If you think about it, it is very similar to last week's incentive. So if you considered last week's incentive, then considering this week's becomes all the more easier. We've all been in this high-tension environment for well over a month now. Of course people are going to start building relationships. Some, more strongly than others.
[He glances Sayaka's way as he says that, handing her the pill bottle so she can take however many she needs. He'll be counting, though.]
Even the most stalwart resisters of incentives are bound to be tempted by a way out without losing what they've built here.
no subject
[She'll take the pill bottle, then--she only takes two, even if she doesn't eat them right away. She'll...deal with these later. She doesn't really look up, but she hands him back the bottle.]
...Honestly, it's not even enough. Especially when it's only for one person. [...] I realize it's probably terrible to say that, but...somehow, that's an even crueler choice than leaving someone you know to die.
no subject
So what you're saying is, you've found yourself tempted but don't like the added pressure of choosing favorites. There is a simple solution to that then, isn't there?
no subject
...Well, technically there's two that one could probably think of. I already asked about one and...received a rather colorful reply in response. [Pro-tip: do not ask Hilda about this shit, the woman will straight up eviscerate you on paper.] And the other would require far too much coordination, wouldn't it? If multiple people acted at once, in tandem.
[...nice people saying wonderful things.]
no subject
I was simply going to tell you to suck it up and not act if you're that concerned about leaving one extra person for dead with the rest of us. But sure, you could also go the convoluted route and piss us off for the headache of an ensuing trial.
no subject
[Sayaka actually averts her gaze, there, biting her lip. Even if she did just...kind of admit she considered it, for all of a day.]
I'm making sure I don't do anything stupid tonight. I...made an idiot of myself, I'll admit that and apologize, but I really don't think I could bring myself to do something like that. And...I honestly like you all way too much for that.
[...It's insipid as shit, and she knows it.]
You can laugh, if you want. I know it's stupid.
no subject
Yeah, I figured. Well, at the very least you now also have me preventing you from actually using them for anything else.
[Witness and all that.
As for the second bit...he ends up shrugging.]
I'm not going to laugh or call you an idiot for being enticed by an incentive. I'm just pointing out what the obvious implications, and what the consequences will be if your plans were to go south. Thanks for liking me enough to not want to try to get me killed though, I suppose.
[Wow.]
no subject
I'm not talking about the incentive, you know. I'm talking about actually liking everyone here to that point.
[She...doesn't sound like she's gonna fight the subject, at least. Rideaux is a backhanded walnut and she seems to get that much for now.]
no subject
...I realize that. Still, good for you to have that, considering what has happened.
[He says it like there's no one here he'd say the same about.]
no subject
...I think so too. You've got that too, don't you?
[Perhaps it's a bit prying? But you know, she has to wonder.]
no subject
I suppose I do.
[Since Sayaka makes a habit of going to the bar after trials, she might have noticed Rideaux and Yuri there together on more than one occasion.]
no subject
...Cherish that, alright? I'm certain that he's just as happy to know you, as you are to know him.
[...they're true friends.]
no subject
Him?
[He's surprised, completely caught off guard. He doesn't really talk about this kind of stuff, so when did she notice anything? Attentive strikes again...!
...ah, well. He pretty much confirmed it with his reaction anyway, didn't he?]
no subject
...Okay no, not really, but she's not smug when she tilts her head]
It's Yuri-san, isn't it? I got that impression mostly from Kotomine-san's trial, when you spoke to him...but I do see you two talking together sometimes--usually down at the bar, after trials.
no subject
[He sighs, letting his shoulders droop.]
I know this may sound ridiculous, but he is the first true friend I've had. Because of my life experiences, I have never been a fan of the idea of having friends. He has helped me see the merit in giving the space for such relationships.
So I was being serious when I said it's good that you like everyone enough to not consider the incentive further.
no subject
[...Okay, that might just be jumping to conclusions, but Sayaka says it with a surprising amount of spirit, if nothing else.]
...Thanks, though. [She's probably stayed around for a bit too long, but she's still got the pills in her hands.] I appreciate it. Be careful tonight, okay?
no subject
...Well. It gets him to smile a little bit in the end.]
"Freeing", huh. That's not a bad way to put it.
[Rideaux has had little opportunity in his life to truly "cherish" anything, but...he finds himself agreeing that this should be one of those things.
...ah, right. It's getting late.]
No problem. Happy to be a proper doctor rather than a coroner at any opportunity. [Rideaux...] You too, Maizono.
