WEEK 5
Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now.

It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well.

Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you.

Yeah I never really bothered to ask other than to complain the first time.

It's biology, so I have no idea.

I did ask, since the changes I encountered were biological as well. [With a shrug,] But, Alena being as blunt as she is, refused to give me an actual reason for it. I suppose there is not much point in dwelling on it, but it does bother me a bit by not knowing... These are our bodies, after all.

[He's still really conflicted about it.]

Oh, is your magic stuff not really magic either?

...somewhat? It is naturally within us when we are born, but it must be "awakened" to be accessed. Mine has been active since I was, oh...a young teenager. I didn't think it could be "turned off", so to speak.

Huh. ... So it doesn't rely on any outside stuff, just purely your own? Like that Milla woman told me her people use spirits to do magic stuff.

[ If she understood it right. ]

["That Milla woman." He can't help but find that to be a little amusing, although...]

It does and it doesn't. [How...vague. But he'll do his best to explain.] Spirits do need to be present for the use of general artes, because they are called upon per use of an arte. But the Chromatus is different, as it has already been imprinted on us by the spirit. We only need a specific physical conduit to activate it.

I've managed to retrieve that conduit here, but it has no effect in this place.

I thought you said it was from within, just had to be... oh, the physical thing activates it, and the thing within was given to you by that god which challenged you guys? Is that it?

Correct. I do realize that it sounds convoluted, because it most certainly is.
