WEEK 5
Tabitha Smith, Sigrun Eide, and Solf J Kimblee are all dead. Regardless of what you think of the trial or the events leading up to it, there's no denying that you can feel the dent in your numbers now. After all, ten people are gone now.

It may be hard, but all you can do is keep going.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; come Sunday morning, the clock chimes the hour at seven o'clock and there are no dead bodies to be found, so it can be assumed that all of you are safe for the time being. That said, you'll be feeling a little groggy when you wake up; it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

What with Jericho's excitement at the last trial, it's evident now more than ever that the new floor that's opened up to you is a gift, a reward for a job well-done. Because while surviving is something that you'll continue to try to do of your own merit...well.

Let's say that he's so, so very proud of you.

Mm, mm! And maybe I bragged about that once or twice.

[She can't help but laugh a little at her own story.]

I sure miss 'em. Every single one of them. Hey, did I ever tell you why I became an idol, Rin?

I don't think so. [Rin taps her chin, moving over to the hand weights.] I asked Maizono-san, but it didn't come up with you.

I usually tell people it's because I have so many pets that I've gotta earn money to feed 'em all, but...when I was really little, my dad passed away. He was pretty sick for a while.

[She rubs her neck a little. Maybe the gym isn't the best place to tell this story, but she really wants to.]

[Oh, well that stops Rin from moving on to a weight routine. She looks back over her shoulder at Hibiki.]

What did he have?

It was cancer. It was a long time ago, so it's not somethin' I think about as often as I used to. Money was pretty tight after. There was me, my brother, my mom, my grandma, Kokemaro...she's my chicken. Hehe, my brother told me..."Hibiki, you could never make it as an idol," so I went to a performance school and made my debut right in Okinawa before being scouted by Namuko Pro.

[She looks away for just a moment. She's really been worried about her family.]

I guess this is all comin' from nowhere, huh? But when I think of my image color, I just think of the waves back home. Have you ever been to Okinawa, Rin?

[Going to sit down on one of the mats, Rin shakes her head and pats the space beside her. Come sit too, Hibiki.]

I haven't, even though it's close. [Fun fact: Fuyuki's real world location would be somewhere in the Kyushu prefecture.] I've left Fuyuki a few times, but only to travel abroad.

Feeling homesick?

[She's landed in Kyushu a few times, probably. Fun times! Hibiki takes a seat where indicated quickly and happily.]

Mm. But that's not new. I'm always feelin' homesick. With Namuko Pro's success, I've been able to do some jobs in Okinawa. But it's good that ya haven't been there.

[Deadpan:] It's because the rumors are true, isn't it. Everyone in Okinawa has hairy legs.

The hairiest! You'd think I was livin' with a buncha bears everywhere.

Actually...it's because once we get outta here, I'm gonna head back there as soon as I can. And I was thinkin'...you should come visit me there. I wouldn't want anyone else showin' ya around!

...Oh. [Rin laughs, quietly.] So you were glad I haven't been to Okinawa because you want to be the first one to show it to me, is that it?

That's right! There's a bunch of people here I'd love to show it to...Susan, Sayaka, Alex...even Elda, but she'd hate the light. But I'd want to show it to you first!

[...this is incredibly sweet.]

It goes against how sunny Okinawa is, but Elda would love it, I bet. And I bet Susan would thrive with the change of scenery.

[Rin smiles genuinely, thinking of that, and it doesn't leave her face as she continues.] I love calling first dibs, but you want to show everyone right away, right? When we get home, I'm probably going to be away for a while.

Right, right? Susan would look great on the beach! She'd find a nice book, and she'd make friends with the beach cats!

[Are beach cats even a thing? They are now.]

I'm gonna have to rest for a bit first. I really just want to be with my mom sometimes, hehe. So I'll wait for you. I don't mind waitin'. Where are you gonna go?

[It might be a long time.]

How quickly I'm summoned will depend on how things go, but I'll have business to attend to in London.

Eh? What's in London?

[Besides Susan, who as Hibiki has already said, is amazing.]

...Mm, well there's many things, namely the institution I wish to study at in a few years. The same location serves as the headquarters of the Mage's Association, as well.

[Oh. Right. Magic.]

I forgot all about that. You and I are probably from different Japans, huh? Magic ain't real where I come from.

[So, Rin couldn't visit her to begin with.]

Why would you be headin' straight there?

[Probably not! But hey, if it exists you're probably better off not knowing about it anyways, Hibiki.]

It's a hassle, but they'll want to decide what to do with me.

Decide what to do with ya? Why? Are ya in trouble or somethin'?

Yeah. [She gives Hibiki a tight-lipped smile.] I'm not sure how much yet, but they won't let me off easily for letting Jericho expose my secret.

Huh? But...but that's not your fault! None of this is your fault!

Like it or not, I did have some say in it. It would upset you if I went into the whole thing, so let's just say the Mage's Association have strict standards, and leave it at that.

Um...are you sayin' you don't want to tell me, or that you think I can't handle it? Because if it's coming from you, I don't mind hearing it.
